Of the many reasons for homeschooling today, attendance is certainly a consideration. Fortunately, contrary to those claiming negative effects of homeschooling, this is normally a problem in underdeveloped countries, where the focus is on providing with food and shelter for the people, rather than educating them to become lawyers. Schools are limited to the first couple of grades and that’s it. However, there are people that move to those countries because of work and still need their children to study specific subjects so that when the family moves back to a normal country the child will not be behind with the studying. However, recent homeschooling statistics show that more and more kids are failing in attendance due to lack of supervision, gang-related problems, and the like, even in the US.

Parents in normally developed countries prefer to home school their children because the education system is not developed enough or the family moves a lot in order to fulfill the tasks of one of the parent’s job. This is common in the United States, where a lot of families move at leas a couple of times each year and it is difficult for their children to keep integrating into new social groups. The parents consider that since it is legal to perform this at home, it is a better idea than forcing their children to keep meeting new children and so on. This is why parents home school their kids, I think. It is a matter of having the option and benefiting from it.

In many other countries, such as the former Soviet block republic, parents should home school their kids more often because the education system is failing and anyone that graduates from a university there does not have the needed skills and knowledge to get hired in a good job. This is a major problem and one of the solutions is for parents to home school their children.

There is also the problem of finances, with some parents not being able to support their children through school, and instead of just giving up on this aspect they decide to help them with whatever they can. It is important in this life to know as much as possible about anything, and if you are not going to school, and are not going to study history, science, and other subjects on your own, someone should help you.

So, what are the reasons for homeschooling? There are, as you can see, a lot of reasons, but the most important thing that we should learn from this is that learning is vital for a good life, so that teaching your children at home about basic things, like your country’s history, is a very positive thing. It is also cheap and you have opportunities to get closer to your child in this way. The only problem is making sure that your state or ares will allow your child to take equivalency exams so that the entire teaching process is not in vain. Other than that, in many areas of the world this is the only way to make sure that you children get all the knowledge they need to become important people in their lives.

Current homeschooling statistics show that the popularity of home schooling has grown significantly over the past few years and now, the rate of growth is estimated to be around eleven percent each year. If you look back at the statistics, in 1994 only 340,000 kids followed this path instead of attending public schools or private institutions. Today, the number has grown to over 2 million.

The rapid growth of homeschooling marks a new paradigm in the way parents look at education and educational institutions. It seems that getting an education doesn’t mean you have to physically attend a public or private institution, or that you have to follow all the rules that apply.

The successes of celebrities who were home schooled is another reason why homeschooling is being fast accepted as the feasible and popular way to educate kids. The emergence of virtual schools and long distance courses enables parents to choose a different route to educate their child. Now even those who had dropped out of school for some reason can enjoy a second chance.

Today, even traditional high schools have embracing the concept of homeschooling. There are more than seventeen states in the US that have high schools with both traditional classes and online classes for those who prefer to be schooled at home. For instance the Florida Virtual School is very popular among its attendees and similar success stories have propelled the growth of more schools with this concept. Most of these colleges are accredited so you don’t have to worry about the authenticity of the diploma your child you will be getting when he completes the course.
The way kids are educated has changed dramatically since the last decade. With everything becoming so fact paced, combined with the rising cost of living, it is easier for parents and students to embrace the concept of virtual schools. Homeschooling seems to be the perfect answer to meet the needs of this competitive and fast paced world.

There is an upside to virtual learning in home school environment. Homeschooling student often report feeling a closer bond with their teachers as most interactions occur on a personal basis through email or telephone. Parents get to apply a vital role in educating their child and a close bonding would result from this as well.

However it should be noted that home school is not for everyone. It takes discipline and dedication to follow along when there is no one except the parents to look over. Unlike traditional schools, there is no pressure of having to complete an assignment on time or conforming to the normal pace of study so it can be a disaster when homeschooling is not carefully planned. However, with proper planning and careful execution, it is possible to experience a new level of satisfaction with a homeschooling environment.

There is another advantage of homeschooling that most people aren’t aware of. A home schooled kid would have a great resume later in life when he proudly displays his homeschooling diploma. Everyone knows it takes discipline, motivation and dedication to complete a diploma this way and this certainly reflects positively on your child’s character and persona.

While there are many reasons for homechooling, perhaps the most common is the concern parents have over the quality of the public schools their children would attend. Here is one parent’s thoughts on the consideration of homeschooling versus enrolling in the public school system:

The answer to this question is really dependent on the country that you are living in and on the type of education system there. For the sake of this article, I will talk about the education system in the United States and compare it to home schooling to answer the question “Is home schooling better than public school?”

The public education system in the United States is regarded as being one of the best in the world. The reality is that it may not be anymore, however I would certainly consider it within the top ten, and definitely remains a very good public education system. Still, the question remains, is home schooling better than public school? Well, there is a problem answering this question, because there are two options in terms of home schooling.

The first option is the simple one, with the least financial implications, in which the parents provide with the home schooling and teaching activities. This I consider to be worse than public schools because the parents are probably not skilled enough to provide with the best possible classes, so to speak. I don’t recommend this type of home schooling unless you have no choice. If this is your intention, it might be best to send your kids to public school. However, there is the second option which is usually better than public school. For this second option the parents should be prepared to spend a significant amount of money each month. The parents will need to actually hire a professional tutor that can handle the teaching in a professional way and provide them with the best possible results. This certainly is a better option than public schools. I am saying this because a tutor will have at least the skills and training of a school teacher, and can better focus on one or two children instead of 30 or more.

Home schooling seems to be a good idea in remote areas where there are no schools and where the family needs to spend a lot of time during the year. This is a common situation all around the world, where one of the parents has to work there and the rest of the family follows. In this case it is probable that only the other parent will be able to provide the homeschooling, but considering the situation, I think that is the best option and you should go ahead with it.

So, you can see that the question has different answers depending on the specific situation you are in, but generally speaking, homeschooling that is taken care of by a professional tutor will always be better than a public school. I know that it is a little bit more expensive, but we all want out children to have the best chance of getting a well paying job and a nice career in a respectable field.

The benefits of homeschooling in 2010 are even more pronounced than they had been in the past. Particularly in these times of economic crises, it is imperative that we find new and resourceful ways to ensure the best education at the lowest possible cost and risk for our kids. When people are fast losing their jobs, it is normal for us to look at more empowering ways to ensure our child’s future are well secured and they get the best start in life with a strong foothold.

With the degrading quality of education offered in public schools and sending kids to a private school is not an option when we are tight on money, homeschooling seems to be the most feasible idea. Proponents of the negative effects of homeschooling neglect to mention the many benefits that public schools are unable to provide, without the high cost of sending your kids to a private school. The latest statistics continue to bear this out.

Home school kids are thought to be more productive, peaceful and more secured in terms of their education and their overall well-being. That is why more and more parents are turning to this route. So what can homeschooling offer and how does it apply to our current economic crises?

Lower Cost, More Opportunity

Homeschooling offers a new door of opportunity for your child to learn at his own pace and it comes at a fraction of what it would cost you to send your kid to a prestigious private school. With homeschooling you become the mentor and the educator and your child becomes the student. But this should not leave you in an awkward or anxious spot. There are so many ready made materials and complete curriculum for homeschool around that what you need to do is simply to select the best one that meets your specific goals you have in mind.

Flexible

Homeschooling is so flexible that you can literally adapt any preference you have for your child’s education and turn it into a workable curriculum for the whole year. There are many different types of curriculum themes you can choose that focus on specific subjects and based on different values such as religion.

Less Commuting

It goes without saying that with a homeschooling schedule at hand, you don’t have to endure the traffic jams and the hassles of getting up in the morning to send your kids off to school. If they are taking public transportation, the cost of paying for those rides can now be eradicated.

Attire

Kids who attend public schools would always want to look their best and fit into the society at large. This demands that they stay up to date and carry the coolest stuff and gadgets around. This is a big burden if you are troubled financially. Being in a home environment spares you off the burden of making those preparations. The money can be saved for a more important need – the future of your child’s education.

It is easy to begin this endeavor if you prefer homeschooling your kids. Simply do a simple search online and choose the online schools you wish to be a part of. There are plenty of choices so do

Homeschooling is fast becoming a popular trend these days as concerned parents are becoming more aware of the obvious disadvantages of public schools, and the many benefits of homeschooling methods in this type of environment for the kids.

Let’s take a look at our list of the top 5 benefits of homeschooling:

Benefit#1: Student to Teacher Ratio

Can you even imagine getting all the attention you need from your teacher in a public school? No way, you would often be left alone to deal with things and struggle to keep up with the ace in case you are being left behind. The classrooms are getting more crowded and competition for attention from the teachers is getting fiercer. Even the teachers are getting stressed out these days.

With homeschooling, the teacher to student ratio is literally unmatched.

Benefit#2: Customization

It is easy to customize the study to meet your specific goals and the individual learning style of your child. If your child has special talents or interest, it is a good time to start looking into those avenue and see if it can be turned into one of the subjects to fit into the homeschooling curriculum.

A homeschooling environment can help maximize the child’s potential and augments his weaknesses while giving the best learning experience that has been adapted to meet his own style of learning.

Benefit#3: Character Building

The degrading of family values and the priceless age old traditional moral values is prevalent in today’s modern society. As much as we wan to inculcate the best of values in our kids, sending them to school opens up a new environment which may make the adherence to those traditional values difficult or simply impassively to achieve. A homeschool environment can help prevent this from happening and lets your child grow up in a safe and protected environment during the early formative years of his life.

Benefit#4: Peer Pressure

Studying in a homeschool environment protects your kids from negative peer pressure and helps him develop his own character which would hopefully, be closer to the ideal picture you have in mind which is consistent with the family values. This is simply impossible to achieve if you send your kid to a public or private school. Peer pressure is a very strong influence and often, family values are subordinated to the more pressing stimulus of the moment and the desire to blend in with the rest of the pack.

Benefit#5: Flexible

This is perhaps the most sought after advantage of homeschooling. It lets you plan your own study schedule, take family vacations whenever you want to and decide when you want and what you want to learn at the moment and how to go about doing it. This is simply impossible to achieve with public schools or even private institutions. You have the flexibility to adapt the timing and pace to your own speed of learning and style, needs and preference and even choose a curriculum that reflects your religious choice.

In spite of fears over the negative effects homeschooling, it is a growing phenomenon in the US, Europe and all around the world. Today, there are more than 2 million parents of homeschool kids in the US alone. It seems that more parents are jumping on the bandwagon and choose homeschooling when it comes to getting an education for their child.

There are some very good reasons why parents turn to homeschooling instead of sending off their child to a public school. Home school is viewed as an attractive environment to nurture their kids compared to leaving the future of their child and their education in the hands of public schools and overstressed teachers.

Let’s look at five good reasons why some middle class families choose to homeschooling their kids rather then sending to public schools.

Reason#1: Distance from School

Some families live in remote areas where access to school is difficult. This makes it inconvenient for the parents to arrange transportation to bring their child to school and back. Often, this involves considerable risk in terms of safety and can be very time consuming as well. Homeschooling literally takes away the headache of commuting to send the kids to school and pick them up in the evening.

Reason#2: Medical Reasons

Some kids are troubled by medical conditions that make it difficult for them to attend normal school or public school like their peers. These can include asthma, disabilities, mental disorders, or simply a short term illness which makes it difficult to adapt to the normal school schedule.

Reason #3: Pace of Learning

Some kids are gifted and can master a whole year’s lesson in a single week or month. Others would find it difficult even to catch up with the normal pace of the learning rate offered at public schools. This makes the ideal candidates for homeschooling. In the total comfort and privacy of your home, you can adapt the pace of leaning to meet your specific child’s needs and ensure maximum results are achieved out of every leaning session

Reasons#4: Behavioral Issues

If you have a hyperactive child or simply one who is creating much trouble for his fellow classmates, then perhaps homeschooling would be perfect for him or her. If your child suffers severe behavioral problems such as shyness or anxiety, then homeschooling might be able to provide a much more comfortable environment for her to be in so all resources would be focused on getting the best possible results from the learning process.

Reason#5: Religious Purposes

With the degrading moral values and less emphasis is placed on religious principles, some families would rather have their kids educated at home in a homeschool environment. This makes it easy to inculcate your own values which are congruent with the religion you believe in. if you are a devout Christian, a Muslim or a Pagan, keeping your kids at home during the formative years can be a good investment.

These are some of the reasons why the positive outweighs the negative effects of homeschooling, and why middle-class working families are fast turning to homeschooling as the preferred choice to provide education for their kids.

The choices in education are normally a problem in underdeveloped countries, where the focus is on providing with food and shelter for the people, rather than educating them to become lawyers. Schools are limited to the first couple of grades and that’s it. However, there are people that move to those countries because of work and still need their children to study specific subjects so that when the family moves back to a normal country the child will not be behind with the studying.

Parents in developed countries prefer to homeschool their children because the education system is not effective enough or the family moves a lot in order to fulfill the tasks of one of the parent’s job.

If we were to talk a former Soviet block republic for instance, I would say that parents here should home school their kids more often because the education system is failing and anyone that graduates from a university here does not have the needed skills and knowledge to get hired in a good job. This is a major problem and one of the solutions would be to allow parents to home school their children.

This might also be a problem of financial situation, with parents not being able to support their children through school, and instead of just giving up on this aspect they decide to help them with whatever they can. It is important in this life to know as much as possible about anything, and if you are not going to school, you are not going to study history and science on your own, someone should help you.

So, why do parents homeschool their children? There are, as you can see, a lot of reasons, but the most important thing that we should learn from this is that learning is vital for a good life, so I think that teaching your children at home about basic things, like your country’s history, is a very positive thing. It is also cheap and you could also get closer to your child in this way. The only problem is making sure that your country will allow your child to take equivalency exams so that the entire teaching process is not in vain. Other than that I really think that in many areas of the world this is the only way to make sure that you children get all the knowledge they need to become important people in their lives.

The concept of homeschooling has been embraced by millions of parents in an attempt to overcome issues often associated with sending kids to a public school. Today, the school has become a rather dangerous and scary place to be. Suicides, firearms, bullies and degrading of the traditional American values account for some of the biggest reasons for a homeschooling. It is much safer and healthier for your kids to be in. Homeschooling also allows parents the comfort and luxury of tailoring the curriculum and learning pace to suit each child’s individual needs.

However, the debate over whether homeschooling or public school makes the best leaning environment for kids remains a big issue.
Let’s look at 5 reasons why parents are slowly moving away from public schools.

#1: Lack of Quality Education

Many parents agree that the level of education offered in public schools are low in quality and are degrading each day. There is a tendency to focus on the lowest common denominator where smart kids have to subordinate their rapid of learning to accommodate the slower learners.

#2: Bad Influence

It is normal to send an innocent toddler to public schools and get him back in the evening with a couple of profane swearing and four letter words added to his dictionary. As if this isn’t enough, teens are also sharing their experiences as they watch their friends practicing unsafe behavior such as engaging in unprotected sex and doing drugs.

#3: Limited Scope

Public Schools offer very limited scope of education and the child will have to learn whatever is included in the curriculum. There is no opportunity to diversity into areas that really interest them. There are very limited choices available, if offered in these public schools.

#4: Lack of Control

Attending public schools means that you don’t have a control over the pace of study, the subjects that your child is most interested in and the ability to tailor the learning methodology to suit your child’s needs and preference. If your child is a slow leaner, chances are he might be left behind as the year progresses and you will have to arrange for additional classes to tutor him just to enable him to catch up with the rest of the pack. If he is a bright student, he will often feel bored waiting for the pages to turn and the rest of the class to follow when he has already understood most of the concepts explained.

#5: Degrading Moral Values

It is common to associate schools as being the number one factor that causes the Great American values to deteriorate. Traditional ways are fast being replaced with the more selfish, self-centered approach in this competitive and fast paced environment. It is very difficult for your child to keep up with the demands of the hectic lifestyle and yet strives to maintain good values you may have inculcated during this early formative year. As peer pressure becomes the strongest factor that contributes to the development of character during this time, public schools would pay a very important role in deciding how your child would eventually turn out to be as a person.

The bottom line is that while there may be some negative effects of homeschooling, the benefits far outweigh them. And given the direction public schools are going, along with endemic budgetary shortfalls which result in larger classrooms and fewer teachers, this gap is only going to grow.

As we move forward into more troubled times with the economic crises still lingering above our heads and people still losing their jobs, the future can be quite scary. it is normal for us to look at more empowering ways to ensure your child’s future are well secured and they get the best start in life with a strong foothold. With the degrading of the quality of education in public schools and private schools not an option when we are tight on money, homeschooling seems to be the most feasible idea.

There are many positive reasons for Homeschooling, and many benefits that public schools are unable to provide without the high cost of sending your kids to a private school.

Home schooled kids are thought to be more productive, peaceful and more secured in terms of their education arrnd their overall well-being as well. That is why more and more parents are turning to this route. So what can homeschooling offer and how does it apply to our current economic crises?

Lower Cost, More Opportunity

Homeschooling offers a new door of opportunity for your child to learn at his own pace and at a fraction of what it would cost you to send your kid to a prestigious private school. With homeschooling you become the mentor and the educator and your child becomes the student. But this should not leave you in an awkward or anxious spot. There are so many ready made materials and complete homeschool curriculum based around what you need, that you can simply select the best one that meets the specific goals you have in mind.

Flexible

Homeschooling is so flexible that you can literally adapt any preference you have for your child’s education and turn it into a workable curriculum for the whole year. There are many different types of homeschool curriculum themes you can choose that focus on specific subjects and based on different values such as religion.

Less Commuting

It goes without saying that with a homeschooling schedule at hand, you don’t have to endure the traffic jams and the hassles of getting up in the morning to send your kids off to school. If they are taking public transportation, the cost of paying for those rides can now be erased.

Attire

Kids who attend public schools would always want to look their best and fit into the society at large which demands that they stay up to date and carry the coolest stuff and gadgets around. This is a big burden if you are troubled financially. Being in a home schooling environment spares you the burden of making those preparations. The money can be saved for more important needs – the future of your child’s education. You can also save money going online and buying used homeschool books.

It is easy to see some of the positive reasons for homeschooling your kids. Simply do a search online and see what’s available. There are plenty of choices so look around and talk to people before you sign up for one.

Today, the popularity of homeschooling has grown and now, the rate of growth for in-home education is estimated to be around eleven percent each year. If you look back at the homeschooling statistics, back in the year 1994, only 340,000 kids were following this path and getting home schooled instead of attending public schools or private institutions. Today, the number has grown to over 2 million. The rapid growth of homeschool marks a new paradigm in the way parents look at education and educational institutions. It seems that getting as education doesn’t mean you have to physically attend a physical institution and following all the rules that applies.

The success of celebrities who were homeschooled is also another reason why it is fast accepted as the feasible way to educate the kids. The emergence of virtual schools and long distance course, or “distance learning” enables parents to choose a different route to educate their child. Now even those who had dropped out of school for some reason can enjoy a second chance.

Today, even traditional high schools have embracing the concept of homeschool. There are more than seventeen states in the US that have high schools with both traditional classes and online classes for those who prefer to be home schooled. Fr instance the Florida Virtual School is highly popular among its attendees and similar success stories have propelled the growth of more schools with this concept. Most of these colleges are accredited so you don’t have to worry about the authenticity of the diploma you child you will be getting when he completes the course.

The way education is doled out has changed dramatically since the last decade. When everything is fact paced, plus the rising cost of living makes it easier for parent and student to embrace the concept of virtual schools. Homeschooling seems to be the perfect answer to meet the needs of this competitive and fast paced world.

There is an upside to virtual learning in home school environment. Homeschooling student often report feeling a closer bond with their teachers as most interactions occur on a personal basis through email or telephone. Parents get to apply a vital role in education their child and a close bonding would result from this as well.

However it should be noted that homeschool is not for everyone, It takes discipline and dedication to follow along with the curriculum when there is no one except the parents to look over your shoulder. Unlike traditional schools, there is no pressure of completing an assignment on time or conforming to the normal pace of study so it can be a disaster when homeschooling is not carefully planned. However, with proper planning and careful execution, it is possible to experience a new level of satisfaction with a homeschooling environment.

More recent homeschooling statistics bear out the successes. Plus, there is another advantage and reason for homeschooling that most people aren’t aware of. A home schooled kid would have a great resume later in life when he proudly displays his diploma which can be obtained through home schooling environment everyone knows it takes dislike, motivation and dedication to complete a diploma this way and this certainly reflects positively on your child’s character and persona.
